About the UK Car Parks website

The main aim of the UK Car Parks website is to provide a reasonably comprehensive listing of public car parks in Great Britain.

The car parks listed here are those used in the Transport Direct journey planner. This includes the majority of general purpose public car parks in Great Britain. As a general rule, it does not include private or "single use" car parks belonging to businesses and available only to their staff and customers, such as motorway services, the majority of supermarkets and "edge of town" retail parks. It also does not include on-street parking.

The information supplied for each car park is somewhat variable and depends on the information supplied in turn to Transport Direct. The dataset is a relatively recent addition to the Open Government library, and hence is somewhat raw in places. Over time, both the accuracy and comrehensiveness of the data should improve.
